Deborah McAllister was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended high school in Phoenix, Arizona.

She graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art and worked in the advertising industry before devoting herself to painting and raising a family. She has studied painting with instructors such as Zoltan Szabo,Tony Couch and Don Sahli.

Ms. McAllister's current work is inspired by the landscape, and she especially enjoys "plein air" painting.The artist lives in the Denver area. Presently, her summers are spent exhibiting in art festivals and teaching workshops.

Affiliations include, Oil Painters of America, International Plein Air Painters, Plein Air Artists Colorado , and a signature membership in the Colorado Watercolor Society.

Deborah's paintings may be seen at the Wildside Studio Gallery in Frisco, Colorado, and the Majestic Gallery in Idaho Springs, Colorado.
